Look at the booths! Are they for changing or shade? Is the weather hot in those clothes?
i think those booth were typically Dutch, they were still used in the 1970's (my granddaughter whispers)..
they were for sun- and windshade..
we were used to wearing those clothes... and then they were visiting, not at home...
Guess swimming was out of the question?
younger people would swim yes but not such *old* people..
Is there a reason for this? Did they think wrinkles infected the water? Was it prudence or prunes that stopped 'old' people from wave frolicking? Were there waves? Am I asking too many questions?
i suppose that it was 'not done'.. they were about 50 then, that was rather old.. :)
